以分享相片動態社為主的社交媒體 Instagram ，今日發布全新產品 IGTV App ，讓用家可上載長達 1 小時的直立式影片。有關應用程式已於 iOS 及 Android 系統上推出，而 Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerburg 亦於 Facebook 上放出宣傳片，為新平台造勢。
Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom 指出，現時市面上大部分影音 App 都需要用家自行搜尋關鍵字或瀏覽首頁，才能夠觀看內容。而 IGTV App 在打開的一瞬間，就會自動播放用家可能感興趣的影片，讓觀看影片的過程變得更加流暢及直覺。
IGTV 會根據用家 Instagram 帳戶的追蹤人數多少，來判斷用戶的知名度。在開放初期，只有名人等級的用戶可以上載長達 1 小時的影片；而其他知名度較低的用家只能上載 10 分鐘長的影片。官方指，最終所有用家都能夠在 IGTV 上載無限長度的影片。

有評論指， IGTV 的出現將會挑戰 YouTube 在影音平台的龍頭地位。因為 IGTV 強調手機直立錄影及播放，加上現時的限時動態熱潮，讓 Instagram 多達 10 億名用家都成為 IGTV 的潛在用家，因此市場預期將會吸引不少手機用家使用。
開放初期， IGTV 上將不會出現廣告，但 Systrom 亦於發布會上表示，日後這個平台將會開放廣告服務。
